This includes 10 GW for various types of buildings to promote self-consumption within private companies, 6 GW for public facilities, and 2.3 GW in the airport sector. Approximately 3.5 GW is also anticipated for newly constructed residential buildings.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The guidelines aim to standardize and streamline the installation of PV systems on buildings, ensuring safer, more efficient, and more sustainable solar energy integration. This initiative by NEDO supports Japan\u2019s broader goal of increasing renewable energy adoption, improving energy efficiency, and reducing carbon emissions in line with its 2050 carbon neutrality targets.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The guidelines correspond to the installation of conventional PV systems, mainly crystalline silicon solar cells, which are currently the mainstream, on building rooftops and walls. It summarizes concrete design and installation methods. NEDO plans to develop new guidelines and technical materials in the future, considering next-generation solar cells, such as perovskite solar cells (PSCs).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a
