Tokyu Land Corporation and SolarDuck B.V., a Dutch offshore solar power company, have installed an “offshore floating solar power generation facility” in the central breakwater area of Tokyo Bay. This marks the first demonstration of offshore floating solar power technology in Japan.\u00a0This project aims to achieve local energy production and consumption through cutting-edge sustainable technologies. The consortium plans to implement Japan\u2019s first offshore floating photovoltaic power generation system,and the generated power will be stored in a 60kW battery located on land. This stored electricity will be used to power events in the Takeshiba waterfront area, as well as electric mobility devices and electric boats, through mobile batteries.<\/div>\n

Tokyu Land Corporation and\u00a0 SolarDuck of the Netherland, in cooperation with Kyocera Communication Systems, installed an offshore floating solar power generation system with a capacity of 80-100 kW on the sea surface in April 2024. This project, adopted as the “Tokyo Bay SG Project Advance Project” by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government’s Bureau of Policy Planning, marks Japan’s first demonstration of offshore floating solar power technology.<\/p>\n

energy production and consumption that can be implemented in other regions of Japan and
