  • As of the end of March 2023 (end of FY 2022), Japan\u2019s cumulative PV installed capacity was 70.7 GW. The additional introduction of 33 to 47 GW is required to achieve the target PV installed capacity of FY 2030<\/li>\n
  • It was agreed to follow up at the next meeting on the measures of relevant ministries and agencies to realize the energy mix<\/li>\n
  • It is assumed that 0.5 GW was installed without the support of the FIT and FIP programs in FY 2022. Since this is estimated to increase hereafter, measures to grasp the installation trends need to be considered<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n

    PV Installed Capacity<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

    As of the end of March 2023 (end of FY 2022), Japan\u2019s cumulative PV installed capacity was 70.7 GW<\/span> (total capacity of not-commissioned PV projects (not yet started operation) was 8.9 GW) <\/span><\/div>\n

     <\/p>\n

    In order to achieve the introduction target of FY 2030 (103.5 to 117.6 GW), additional introduction of 33 to 47 GW is required.<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n

     <\/p>\n

    Japan\u2019s PV installed capacity by Fiscal Year (FY, from April to March)<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n

    \"PV<\/div>\n
    \n

     <\/p>\n

      \n
    • The recent PV installed capacity has been around 5 GW\/year. In FY 2022, 0.5 GW was installed without the support of the FIT and FIP programs<\/span><\/li>\n
    • With the expected increase of renewable energy introduction independent of the FIT or FIP program, measures to grasp the installation trends need to be considered<\/span><\/li>\n
    • As of June 1, 2023, the installed capacity under the FIP program was 80 projects with 155.3 MW (new projects and the projects with approval of transition to a new scheme)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n

       <\/p>\n

      Reports were made on the following efforts: Promoting expansion of rooftop installations under the FIT and FIP programs; disposal and recycle of PV systems; promoting additional investment for the maximum use of renewable energy; social implementation of next-generation technologies at an early date.<\/p>\n

      Measures by relevant ministries and agencies to realize the energy mix will be followed up at upcoming meetings<\/strong><\/p>\n

      Implementation with the initiative of the public sector, introduction of PV systems in harmony with local communities, making airports to be the hub of renewable energy, promoting self-consumption by private companies, enhancing policy measures to support installations on newly-built housing, and promoting introduction of renewable energy in harmony with local communities<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
